1. Local Financial Processing

SpendSathi is designed to respect your privacy regarding your personal financial data. All SMS messages, UPI alerts, and bank transaction details are parsed and processed locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your financial data to our servers.

2. Permissions We Request

• READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS: This permission is strictly required to read incoming bank and UPI messages to automatically log your expenses. These messages are parsed locally on your phone and are never uploaded to any external server.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: This permission allows us to send you local alerts, such as daily spending summaries, budget warnings, or categorization reminders. These notifications are generated locally on your device.
• INTERNET: This permission is required to serve advertisements and collect basic app analytics (detailed below).

3. Analytics and Advertising

While your financial data is processed entirely locally, we use third-party services to help maintain, improve, and monetize the app:

• Google Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase to collect anonymous usage data, device information, and crash reports. This helps us understand how the app is used and fix technical issues.
• Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers, IP addresses, and generalized location data to serve personalized ads.

4. Security

Because your transaction data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data relies on your device's security measures. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping your device's operating system updated.
